Howard pulls out a quote the band gave a reviewer in 1982, in which they
call Bruce Springsteen mediocre and dismiss Born in the USA outright. He
reads it back to them in the studio, twenty-five years later, and makes them
answer for it.
Andy Taylor had walked out of the band and was writing a book about the
others. They admit they have no relationship with him at all now and that
the lawyers are already exchanging letters β and then explain why they think
the book might still be good for them. Howard pushes on the obvious
question: why would anyone leave a business this good?
The strangest story of the interview comes later. A television crew ambushed
the band outside a New York building with a woman who claimed to be the
mother of one of their children. Her own parents backed up the story,
including the detail about regular Sunday lunches at the house. None of it
was true. Also: whose wife built Juicy Couture and out-earns him, the rumour
that Boy George tried to torpedo their yacht, and why their new video was
banned in England. #HowardSternShow #DuranDuran #SimonLeBon #BoyGeorge

What happens to a lake when nobody is legally responsible for it?
The Great Lakes hold roughly a fifth of the world's fresh water. The smaller lakes feeding into that same system get none of it.
Mary Conley Eggert has spent time closing that kind of gap. She helped prove that cutting water use by 30 percent could still be profitable for utilities in Israel and California, then applied the same thinking to the lakes near her own house that nobody else was tracking.
She points to Gwinnett County, Georgia, where a utility built a hub that gets people genuinely curious about water, backed by an EPA study showing water innovation hubs can boost program effectiveness by 25 percent. Milwaukee runs something similar.
Data alone rarely moves people, Eggert says. Rate hikes are proving to be one of the few things that does.
A business case, a crisis, and a lake with no legal owner. Watch to see how they connect.

The Leak In The System
Howard puts $500 on the line for a caller, and the game collapses on air
because the answer key jumps straight from A to Z. Gary blames Sal. Sal
blames Gary. Neither one backs down, and Sal ends up asking the audience
to decide who was right.
Gary pulls Sal into his office to explain that the files just need to run
A, B, C, D. Sal insists he did exactly what he was told, refuses to hear
it, and gets thrown out β then comes back and says Gary was right, which
Gary says he only did so Gary would drop it. Sal then walks the whole
thing out on air with the screen up, calls Gary's pitch a loop playing in
his baboon head, and hands the verdict to the listeners.
Robin, Fred and Artie Lange are all in the room while it happens.
